The 2004 Birdsville Races will be the tenth year in a row that Bob Derrick has been bringing tours to Birdsville. Every year Bob brings a coach load of outback enthusiasts to experience the races, and he says, "every year it's different". Since his first trip in 1995, not a year has gone by that hasn't been different and unique in some way whether it be from a speck of rain or a cloud of dust, and thats what keeps him coming back year after year.

The concept of Centre One Tours began with a family barbecue and now ten years later carries on with the same idea, but travellers don't despair you will be eating your sausages in style when your with Bob. Centre One Tours pride themselves in providing a unique outback experience to the races, "just because you're in the middle of nowhere, you don't have to rough it". Bob runs luxury quality coaches to the races, along with full camping accommodation, marquee, private chef and even a chicken and champagne brunch on race day if you're lucky. 

Bob is passionate about passengers embracing a "total personal experience" when they travel to the races, "where they can reconnect with the people of Australia, and their spirit...the spirit that they're own communities have lost". Bob has developed a long and deep appreciation of the people of the west and their commitment to the country, so as long as the races are on, Bob will be in town.
